Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 13, 2026. NextRange Mobile ("NextRange," "we," "us") is currently in private beta. This policy describes what we collect through this website and our beta service, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
Who we are
NextRange Mobile is a parent-controlled, data-only cellular service for a kid's first connected device. We're US-based and currently serve US customers only.
What we collect
Waitlist signups. When you join a waitlist, we collect your email address and, if you provide it, your display name. We use this to hold your spot, contact you about beta access, and link your account if you sign up again with the same email.
Readiness quiz. If you take our "Is your kid ready for their first connected device?" quiz, we collect your answers, which include your child's age band and situational questions about their needs. We don't collect your child's name or other direct identifiers, only these answers. If you provide an email at the end, we link the quiz result to it so we can follow up. Quiz answers are about your child, but the quiz is directed at and answered by you, the parent. It is not a service directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect personal information directly from children.
Account activation. If you're invited to the beta, activating your account collects the email and display name you confirm.
Automatic technical data. We log IP addresses briefly (typically under an hour) to rate-limit signup abuse, and separately for staff/admin authentication sessions (to secure our internal tools, not to identify visitors). We don't otherwise track or store website visitor IP addresses.
Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how people use this site: pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP, device and browser type, and referring site. Google Analytics only runs if you accept analytics cookies in the consent banner, or if you don't have a browser opt-out signal (like Global Privacy Control) enabled. Google acts as our data processor for this; see Google's Privacy Policy for how they handle it. We haven't enabled Google Signals or ad personalization, so Analytics data isn't used to build advertising profiles or shown to us as individually identifiable.
What we don't collect. No payment or billing information (we don't process payments during private beta). No phone number, SMS content, or call data. No advertising trackers or pixels beyond Google Analytics as described above.
Cookies
We use one strictly necessary cookie for signed-in staff sessions (not required for waitlist signup or the quiz), and, only with your consent, Google Analytics cookies. You can change your analytics choice anytime using the "Cookie preferences" link in the site footer.
Why we use this data
- To operate the waitlist and beta program you signed up for.
- To communicate with you about your signup, invite, or account.
- To understand and improve the site, if you've consented to analytics.
- To prevent abuse of our signup forms (rate-limiting).
We don't sell personal information, and we don't share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
Who we share it with
We share data with service providers who help us run the site and beta program: our cloud hosting and database providers, transactional email provider, and Google (for analytics, if you've consented). These providers are only permitted to use the data to provide services to us. We don't share personal information with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
How long we keep it
Waitlist, quiz, and account data is kept for as long as needed to run the beta and, if you become a customer, your account. Rate-limiting IP logs are deleted automatically within about an hour. If you ask us to delete your data (see below), we'll do so except where we need to retain limited records for security, fraud prevention, or legal compliance.
Your choices and rights
Regardless of where you live, you can ask us to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate data.
- Delete your data (this removes you from waitlists and deletes quiz responses tied to your email).
- Opt out of analytics, using the cookie preferences link or your browser's Global Privacy Control signal.
To do any of this, contact us at contact@nextrangemobile.com. We'll respond within a reasonable time, consistent with applicable law.
California residents: you have rights under the CCPA/CPRA to know, delete, and correct your personal information, and to opt out of "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We don't sell personal information, and with Google Signals disabled, we don't use Google Analytics to build cross-context behavioral advertising profiles. We honor Global Privacy Control signals as an opt-out.
If you're in the EU/EEA or UK: we don't currently market NextRange to, or knowingly serve, customers outside the US. If GDPR nonetheless applies to your use of this site, the legal bases above (consent for analytics, legitimate interest for fraud prevention, contract/pre-contract steps for waitlist and beta signup) are what we rely on, and you have the same access/correction/deletion rights described above, plus the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
Children's privacy
NextRange's marketing site and quiz are directed at parents, not children, and we don't knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. The product itself is designed for a parent to manage on behalf of their child.
Security
We use industry-standard measures (encryption in transit, access controls, credential hashing) to protect the data we hold. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
We'll update this page as NextRange moves from private beta toward general availability, and we'll update the effective date above when we do. Material changes will be flagged on this page.
