About NextRange Mobile

NextRange Mobile is a parent-controlled cellular data service built around one specific moment: the point where a Wi-Fi-only kid's device stops being enough, but a full traditional phone line feels like overkill.

The problem we're solving

Most families end up with an old phone sitting in a drawer once a parent upgrades: usually a perfectly capable device, just no longer connected to anything. At the same time, a kid getting more independent (walking to school, riding the bus, staying home alone, going to practice) increasingly needs a way to reach a parent, and to be reached, away from Wi-Fi.

The usual answer is to add the kid as another line on a traditional carrier plan. That works, but it's built for someone who needs a phone number, unlimited texting, and a full voice line, not for a family that mostly needs "can my kid text me and get picked up on time." Dedicated kids-phone products exist too, but they often require buying new hardware or paying a premium for monitoring features many families don't want.

NextRange fills the gap in between: cellular data for a device the family already owns, with the controls a parent actually wants, at a price that matches what a child's first connected device should cost.

What we believe

Our mission is simple: make a child's first connected device inexpensive, understandable, and controllable by the parent.

That shapes a few concrete choices:

  • Reuse what you already own. No new hardware required: if the phone or tablet supports a standard eSIM, it's a candidate.
  • Data, not a full line. NextRange is intentionally data-only. No traditional phone number, SMS line, or voice service, because that's not the problem most families are solving for a first device.
  • Control lives with the parent. NextRange is being built around parent-managed pause, resume, schedules, and data visibility, not buried in a separate app or a third-party subscription.
  • No surprise bills. Access pauses when data runs out. There's no automatic overage charge waiting to show up on a statement.

The name

NextRange Mobile: More freedom. Always in range.

The tagline is deliberately two-sided. Kids get more independence away from Wi-Fi. Parents get the reassurance of staying reachable. "In range" is both a coverage reference and a product goal: your kid stays connected, and you stay in the loop.

Where we are

NextRange is currently in private beta. We're working with a small group of early families to validate setup, device compatibility, and real-world data usage before opening up more broadly. If that's useful for your family, join the waitlist. We'll reach out as spots open up.
