Wi-Fi-only iPads do not contain cellular hardware. Confirm the device is a Wi-Fi + Cellular model before purchasing an eSIM.

Before you buy

Confirm the device has an EID and can add a downloadable eSIM before purchasing a plan. That’s the surest sign it accepts one.

CheckSettings → Cellular Data → Add eSIM
